Eric Chiu

President for Asia

Mr. Chiu is a professional civil engineer by training. Prior to joining GGAM, he was President of Asian Development for Venetian Macao Limited under the Las Vegas Sands Corp. from December 2002 until May 2009. In this position he was responsible for corporate business development planning, market research and relationship development with relevant Macao and PRC government authorities. He played a major role in the Sands Macao project and the Venetian Integrated Resort Hotel project in Cotai Strip Macao, which involves an investment of approximately $11 billion. He was also in charge of the advanced works of the Hengqin development project in Zhuhai, China, which involved an initial investment of $2 billion, and spans 5.3 square kilometers, containing convention and exhibition centers, a yacht marina, golf clubs, and many more recreational and cultural development projects. Prior to Las Vegas Sands, Mr. Chiu was the Business Director of the Macao Tower project, for which he performed contract management, and budget and cost control. Before that, he was engineer and project development director for a number of major projects in Hong Kong, PRC, U.K., and Canada, and general manager for business development with Lifung DistriCenter (logistics center) in Panyu Guangdong China, Lippo Protective Tower in Hong Kong, German‐based BMW in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong, and the extension project of Vancouver International Airport in Canada.
